Hello All,
I've decided to share new project.
A gentleman customer (I rarely ever get a male client) wants to have a set of chair cushions re-covered. One is the seat, the other for the back.
The fabric is a nice light-weight, durable twill and will have a velcro closure.  I like the nautical color scheme and it goes well with the type of chair.  One of those Adirondack chairs.

So here's the before pictures.  I will be doing these over the weekend and I hope to have the finished product by Monday.

Since these are very thick cushions, I suggested five yards.  He brought less than that. : /  I hope I dont have to call him for more fabric.  Guess I'll just see how it goes. . .

Hello to All You Ladies who are participating in the Mad Men Sewing Challenge.  I just found out that Katie Couric is having a Mad Men event on her show on April 22nd.  If any of us are lucky maybe we can get tickets.  Mmmm.....yeah right. : )  I did put in a request anyway.  Wouldn't it be great if we can go as a group and show our finished garments?  Anyway, we can at least tune in on April 22 and enjoy the show from at home.

From Shorts to Skirt in 90 Minutes

A friend of mine is leaving for Florida and wanted to transform a pair of her shorts into a skirt. I thought she was actually leaving on Friday, but she's leaving tomorrow. I could not have her go without her skirt, so I quickly stitched up the center front and back seams. Place her chosen mudcloth pieces, as she chose and stitched. At first I thought would use a zigzag stitch around the edge, then decided that a nice straight stitch would work better. Not too bad for a 90 minute job, huh?.

I'll have to have her send me a pic when she has it on.  I hung it up in front of me and it hangs pretty well, with a slight drape at the center front.  It was fast and fun.  I plan to do some more skirts before the Summer hits.  BUT with putting much more time in it.

I FOUND MY PATTERN!!!! YES!!!! DID NOT THING IT WOULD BE SO SOON.  TIME FOR FABRIC !

Old Japanese Art

I saw an article in Better Homes & Garden last month and thought I'd try my hand at this old japanese art called Kokedama.  It was so much fun.
I'm sure I will be making some more to add to my homemade jungle. : )

Going Crazy Over Mad Men

I just spent almost two hours trying to decide which dress to make for the Mad Men Sewing Challenge - they are all so nice.  Since, I kept leaning towards Peggy (I absolutely love her style), I chose to go with this gorgeous green one:

I'm not too crazy about the color but I love the style!
Now to find a pattern.  Probably wont find one exactly like it, not to mention
in my size, so I'm prepared to do a lot of altering, but of course that's all part of the challenge, right.
