Last Class

This past Wednesday was officially my last "Sewing for the Home" class - until September.  As always, it was a great class.  The ladies learned how to make Wine Bottle Gift Bags, Table Runners and how to read a pattern envelope.  They were all very eager to learn.  Some worked a little faster than others and were nice enough to help out once they were done.

Once again, I want to thank you all for taking my class.  You did very well!  Remember to keep up the sewing and hopefully I will see you again in the Fall.

Pinch Pleat Curtains

At the time of my last posting, I realized that I had not taken pictures of the "pinch pleat curtain"...so here are some pics. Pretty neat, hah?

My "Home Decorating" class went great last night.  The ladies wanted to learn how to do pinch pleat curtains.  And I have never done them myself, but it didnt take much to figure it out, especially with the help of pleat tape.  That stuff is awesome.  Lee (one of the ladies in the class) was telling me how she remembered doing them in 4H and how they had to measure each pleat.  Boy, has sewing come a long way!

Next week is the last class and I will be sorry to see this group go.  It was another awesome class and I can't wait until the Fall session arrive.

Its such a beautiful day here in Saratoga Springs.  So far I have spent my morning and early afternoon doing for others.  But before this day is over I will make some time to work on one of my projects.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Hello -

I just thought I would share a part of my day with you.  As I was walking to pickup my car this afternoon (always trying to do more than one thing at the same time (pickup car & get my exercise in) also, as my mother use to say, "Kill two birds with one stone."... I know its just an old saying but, why would anyone with a sane mind want to kill a bird???  Anywho, as I was walking, I realized how much I missed this time of the year.  I so much enjoy picking up blooms that have blown off trees.  From now until Fall I look out for flowers, leaves, twigs and branches.  Whatever catches my eye usually becomes a part of my craft projects or even just a piece of home decor'.

Today I found this great branch.  First I'm going to put it into a vase of water to see if it will continue to grow leaves or bloom flowers.  Afterwards, I will keep the branch as an accent in my living room.

Does anyone know what kind of tree or bush this is from?

I also picked up these;

The green looks like lettuce. : )

Well who knows what kind of project it will become a part of.  But I'm looking forward to getting to work.

Have a blessed day and thank you for visiting.

Wow! I was just going over some things and realized how long its been since I've blogged.  NOT GOOD! : (  I really enjoy keeping up with other peoples/businesses post.  It gives me really good ideas and it keeps me inspired.

Im currently in the middle of reading two really great books - Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin (www.karichapin.com) and A Step-by-Step Guide to Successful Sales on Etsy and Beyond by Derrick Sutton (www.howtosellyourcraftsonline.com).  Im working on re-modeling my entire website (www.lilacsandlavender.webs.com) and rebuilding my Etsy Shop (Shop Name: Lilacs and Lavender).

On top of all of that, Im in the middle of my Fall classes and working on new products.  So there is plenty of work to be done.  So I hope that my few followers will stay tuned in with my progress and cheer me along and by all means tell others about me.

Many Blessings - Roz
